MWUN Participates in the Heart-to-Heart Connection Program on Wetland Ecological Education Cooperation
Representatives of the Mekong Wetland University Network (MWUN) participated in the Heart-to-Heart Connection Program – Symposium on Wetland Ecological Education Cooperation, held from 17–21 July 2026 at Southwest Forestry University, Kunming, Yunnan, China. The event brought together researchers and academics from across South and Southeast Asia to exchange knowledge and strengthen regional collaboration in wetland conservation, research, and education.
The symposium and field visits provided an excellent opportunity to exchange knowledge and experiences on wetland conservation and management. We were especially honored that Prof. Bin Tian and his colleagues guided our delegation during the field visits to the Shangri-La wetlands, sharing their expertise in wetland conservation and management and introducing us to Southwest Forestry University's research station at Shangri-La Pudacuo National Park. We were also honored to meet Prof. Kun Tian, whose insightful presentation on the protection and restoration of the Shangri-La Ramsar Sites provided valuable insights into wetland conservation in the region. Our MWUN members were also pleased to contribute to the symposium by presenting their research on wetlands in the Mekong region.
